We travelled as a family group of 5 adults to the Yarra Valley. John our host and driver was highly competent and informative and was keen to make our day as enjoyable as possible. We visited 4 wineries, a brewhouse, a cheese outlet and a chocolate outlet. All places were good fun with a range of interesting products. We had an outstanding lunch at Oakridge winery which was included in the package. We were all very satisfied with our day and have no trouble in recommending the company to prospective clients.
Kellybrook Winery is the first producer of ciders in the Yarra Valley. Phil and Gus Kelly have been involved in cider making since the 1960s. Kellybrook is also known for its champagne cider and apple brandy. Their cider is made from fresh Yarra Valley apples and pears, crushed on site with a traditional rack-and-cloth press, resulting in fantastic ciders.
Kellybrook has recently launched their new beer, called Riders. They have three available, Easy Rider, XPA and Loose Trucks.
Your journey continues through the stunning countryside of the Yarra Valley to the tour’s next stop at Coldstream Brewery.
It began as the dream of five friends, who dreamt of producing boutique beers, after tasting some European beers whilst on an overseas holiday. Coldstream offers a tasting paddle with a variety of beers, such as a lager, pils, ale and cider. One to note is the Grand Porter, a delicious, smooth and creamy dark ale.
The next top on your Yarra Valley tasting tour is nearby, Domaine Chandon, where you enjoy a delicious lunch.
Our winery tour is also about having a delicious food experience. This is why why our tasting tour stops at Oakridge Wines. They’ve been making wine in the Yarra Valley since 1978 and have evolved as an outstanding winery, regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and supported by a welcoming, and now refurbished cellar door and restaurant, with wonderful views across the vineyard and the valley.
Oakridge Wines stretches across 10 hectares of vines and is a family owned estate. You’ll enjoy the flavours of their Chardonnays, Pinot Noir and their stunning Syrah.

With lunch over, you can taste more wines at Pimpernel Vineyard (weekends only)
This small family winery features a unique cellar door. Pimpernel’s techniques produce intensely flavoured wines due to cane pruning, shoot thinning, canopy management and selective harvesting. Some wines on offer are the icons of the Yarra Valley, the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but also a Syrah, a Grouch, Cabernet Merlot and many more. Pimpernel Vineyard is an experience you won’t want to miss…
Yarra Yering was established in 1969 by Dr Bailey Carrodus and produced their first vintage in 1973. Renowned for creating top class red wines with an international reputation for quality and individuality.
Just a short drive away is the Coldstream Dairy to enjoy a cheese tasting.
Coldstream Dairy specialises in cheeses made from Yarra Valley milk. Cheeses on tasting are italian-style handmade cheeses, fresh feta and yoghourt.
Passionate foodies, Ian and Leanne Neeland, have developed a destination where one can delight in the experience of tasting, seeing and indulging in quality chocolate products. Set on 16 hectares amongst one of Australia’s premium wine regions and surrounded by the picturesque Yarra Valley, an emerging orchard and sweeping lawns, the Chocolaterie is an experience you won’t forget. Watch the art of chocolate making, from handcrafting to handpacking, and meet the European chocolatiers who will amaze you with their chocolate creations. The delicious product range features fruits and nuts picked from the Chocolaterie’s own orchard of cherries, plums, apricots, citrus, quince and almonds, locally sourced provisions and the best quality, Belgian couverture chocolate, including a selection of single origin and organic couvertures. Not to forget, on offer is a fantastic range of chocolate truffles, ice cream and Australian native plant chocolates.
After a day of delicious wine, cider and ale tastings, exquisite vineyards and a wonderful cheese and chocolate truffle tasting, your wine and food tasting tour takes you back to Melbourne.
